Polish pair bring European flavour to Bury St Edmunds market
Polish friends Beata Kalinska and Anita Okoniewska are bringing European flavour to the Bury St Edmunds Saturday market after starting a Spicy Sausages stall.
They have started serving grilled Slaska and Torunska sausages – and plan to introduce more authentic Polish foods as the business develops.
“The English people seem to like our sausages very much,” said Beata.
“We think they are probably the best sausages in the World. They are certainly very popular.”
She said Polish food was becoming more readily available in supermarkets, and that English people seemed to like their different flavours.
When not at the stall Beata works for NHS Logistics in Bury, while Anita is a house keeper.
Anita also makes Polish cakes in her spare time and said she she may sell them on the stall soon
