The Black Lion

The Black Lion is a place to eat, drink, sleep and relax. It features roaring log fires in the bar, the 40 cover restaurant and the warm and cosy drawing room.

The conservatory is the perfect space for private dinner parties, business meetings or cocktail parties - it leads onto the large terrace perfect for al fresco dining.

When it is time to hit the hay enjoy a restful night’s sleep in one of our ten individually styled bedrooms. Our bedrooms consist of cosy snugs, luxury rooms, a luxury suite and a family room with modern interior styling that is sympathetic to our Georgian building. Amenities in our bedrooms include flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities, superfast WIFI and Bramley products.

Dog Friendly Stays

Wagging tails will always be welcome through our door. So much so, that we have created an overnight stay package, Muddy Paws, and a special dog menu, with your four-legged companion in mind.

Our team members are always on hand with doggy treats and tips for the best dog walks in our area, including our own Nine Stile Stride walking route.
