About this event
Suffolk Young People’s Theatre, now in their 47th year, go under the sea this year with Disney’s The Little Mermaid!
Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, is obsessed with the human world and is desperate to be part of it. When she lays eyes on Prince Eric, she makes a deal with the evil Sea Witch Ursula to trade her voice for legs. With the help of friends, Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle, can Ariel keep her part of the bargain and kiss Prince Eric by the time the sun sets on the third day, or will Ursula’s meddling pay off?
Based on the original fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson, The Little Mermaid is a love story for the ages. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with irresistible songs such as Kiss the Girl and Part of your World. Come under the sea with SYPT, the original Bury St Edmunds summer school in 2026.
