About this event

Discover a compelling exhibition that reveals Queen Elizabeth II through one of her most enduring passions—horses. Running  between June to September 2027.

Structured around the themes of duty, leisure, and freedom, the exhibition presents fresh insights into her deep relationship with horses. It explores the quiet independence she experienced while riding alone, alongside the ceremonial grandeur of royal tradition, from her Coronation to Trooping the Colour. It also celebrates the exhilaration and personal delight she found in horseracing—revealing an intimate and often unseen dimension of the monarch.

A rich and diverse display brings together personal objects, historic dress—both military and civilian—and outstanding works of art. The exhibition features exceptional works by leading equine painters and sculptors of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including rarely displayed pieces from the Royal Collection, major museums and private collections. Together, they capture the elegance, power, majesty, and spirit of the horse, reflecting the Queen’s deep appreciation for the art form.

The exhibition will be supported by an exciting programme of talks, masterclasses, activities and events. Further information to follow.
