About this Business

Discover the history of Mildenhall, its treasures and people, told through wonderful displays in our newly developed galleries. 500,000 years of history under one roof. From our pre-history room with flints and fossils with examples you can touch, to our 1950s community room, Mildenhall Museum has something for everyone.

You can see the Lakenheath Warrior, his horse and his artefacts from the grave; discover the mystery of the magnificent Mildenhall Treasure; and find out about the key role Mildenhall’s air base played on the Second World War.

Mildenhall Museum is fortunate to house varied and fascinating collections, from the skeleton of the Lakenheath Warrior (and his horse!) to our fascinating insight into the events at Mildenhall RAF airbase during the Second World War. From wartime uniforms to a butcher’s bike, the varied galleries capture the spirit of the town

Mildenhall Museum is managed and run by volunteers. It takes a lot of hard work to keep this amazing museum open, and the Trustees take the responsibility for the development and the management of the museum.
