Each experience will immerse you in the brewery, giving you a fun and educative beer experience. Whether it's for you, your family and friends or as a larger group of workplace colleagues, we have the experience to meet all budgets and needs.

Brewery Tour

This experience offers a guided tour around our modern, recently built brewery where you can learn all about the beer-making process and taste our range of award-winning beers.

Go behind the curtain and enjoy unrestricted access around our state-of-the-art brewery and site where we will unveil some of the secrets to our craft. Learn about our 30 year history, learn about the brewing process and the science behind brewing, understand what ingredients give what tastes/flavours/aromas, taste our full range and ask any questions you like of our expert.

Your brewery tour will begin in our bar & taproom where your tour guide will introduce Nethergate and inform you of our rich history as a brewery. Your tasting experience will start here with our first beer, Suffolk County, before you will then step foot into the brewery where your guide will introduce you to the mill, the fermentors, the mash-tun, our copper still etc. You will be talked through each stage of the brewing process, the ingredients involved and the critical controls to ensure that our beer is consistent each time. Once the tour finishes, you will be welcomed back into our bar & taproom where you'll be able to get a proper taste of our good stuff and where you will also get the opportunity to ask any questions of your guide. You are then welcome to enjoy the comfort of our taproom and garden for as long as you wish.

Distillery Tour

This experience offers a guided tour around our state-of-the-art distillery where you can learn all about the spirit-making process and get a flavour of our growing range.

Go behind the scenes and enjoy unrestricted access around our distillery where we will unveil some of the secrets behind our gins and where we will showcase the true craftsmanship that goes into every bottle of our Nethergate spirits. Discover the story around our inaugural gin, Melford’s and hear about where we source our local ingredients whilst you get up, close and personal with Bonnie & Clyde our custom-made stills.

Please note that our distillery tours are a pre-booked experience and can book up quickly! Tickets must be claimed at least 48 hours prior to the time of the event.

Your distillery tour will begin in our bar & taproom where your guide will introduce Nethergate and tell you about our history as a brewery and our story so far as a spirit-maker. Here, you will get the chance to taste our inaugural gin, Melford’s Gin, before you step into the distillery where your guide will introduce our stills, Bonnie & Clyde. You will be talked through the spirit-making process, the science behind distilling and the ingredients that make our spirits so special. After your tour, you will be welcomed back into the bar & taproom where you’ll be able to get a taste of our full range and you’ll get an opportunity to ask any questions of your guide. You are then welcome to enjoy the comfort of our taproom and garden for as long as you wish.

Our tours are suitable for those aged 18 or over and require visitors to negotiate several staircases. If you have reduced mobility and think this might be difficult, please telephone to make your booking so we can provide advice and if necessary, make any arrangements to assist you. Our site is partially accessible to wheelchairs on the ground floor, and customers in wheelchairs and small mobility scooters may be unable to access some areas on the tour route.
