About this event

The historic market town of Clare will once again host the much-loved Clay in Clare ceramics selling exhibition from 10–13 September 2026, running daily from 10am to 4pm.

This year’s event will be housed in the atmospheric Old Goods Shed, nestled within the scenic surroundings of Clare Castle Country Park. The unique venue, rich in local heritage, provides an ideal setting for showcasing handmade ceramics against a backdrop of natural beauty and history.

Featuring the work of 17 potters, the exhibition will present a wide variety of styles and techniques. Visitors can expect to find everything from finely crafted domestic ware to distinctive decorative sculptures, all available to purchase directly from the makers. The event offers a valuable opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and support independent craftspeople.

This is the third year of the event organised by Sue Eyre and Diana Kazemi who are ceramicists living in Clare and both hope that this year’s exhibition will continue to attract both dedicated collectors and first-time visitors, drawn by its welcoming atmosphere and high standard of work. The combination of skilled craftsmanship and Clare’s picturesque setting makes the event a highlight of the local arts calendar.
