About the Venue
ICE Restaurant is tucked away in an unlikely location just off Junction 45 of the A14, in the heart of Rougham Industrial Estate. Housed inside a converted warehouse with plenty of free on-site parking, it’s well worth discovering.
Open 10am–4pm and 5pm–11pm Thursday to Saturday, and 10am–4pm on Sundays, ICE has a quirky interior with a distinctive retro-industrial feel. The friendly ICE team serves incredible food and drinks, all prepared with plenty of care.
The menu has something for everyone, from dry-aged steaks and burgers to refined seasonal dishes and colourful superfood salads. Breakfast is a particular highlight, with the famous ICE Full English, hash brown towers and loaded pancake stacks among the favourites. There are plenty of gluten-free and vegan options across the menu, as well as a separate children’s menu.
Drinks are taken just as seriously. Alongside barista-made coffee and milkshakes made with ICE’s handmade gelato, there’s an extensive cocktail menu. Every cocktail is hand-mixed using premium spirits, with a special cocktail offer running every Thursday and Friday.
The restaurant itself has been created using recycled and reclaimed materials wherever possible. The bar combines Victorian railway sleepers with a Dekton worktop made from 80% recyclable material, while tables have been fashioned from reclaimed Georgian doors and industrial cable drums. These details give ICE its distinctive industrial character, alongside plenty of fun and unexpected features.
At the centre of the restaurant is a huge mural featuring Slash, Aretha Franklin and Freddie Mercury – a nod to the team’s love of music, which continues through ICE’s eclectic playlists and dedicated live music stage.
ICE is also much more than a restaurant. Throughout the year, its events calendar is packed with everything from live stand-up comedy featuring some of the UK’s sharpest comic talent to drag shows, painting classes and more. The restaurant is also available for private hire, including wedding receptions, birthday parties and other celebrations.
Outside, there’s a large covered seating area featuring Bessie, ICE’s original 1960s converted Airstream, which doubles as a pizza oven.
ICE is a family-friendly restaurant with a dedicated children’s menu, high chairs and garden games. Everyone is welcome, and inclusivity is an important part of what ICE is about.

ICE Cook School
The ethos at ICE Cook School is simple: cooking should be creative, hands-on and, above all, fun.
Located next to ICE Restaurant, the Cook School is a unique space where food lovers of all abilities can come together to learn, share ideas and develop their confidence and skills in the kitchen.
Classes are run by the passionate ICE team and kept to small groups, with an emphasis on practical skills and inspiring recipes that can be recreated at home. Depending on the class, you could learn everything from knife skills and flavour combinations to preparing complete dishes from scratch.
The calendar includes full-day cookery workshops, cuisine-specific classes, children’s cookery classes and ICE’s unique Date Nights – perfect for anyone looking for something a little different to do in Bury St Edmunds.
For a completely different experience, there’s the ICE Lunch Bar. Inspired by the legendary counter dining of Barcelona’s Pinotxo Bar, this intimate, chef-led experience puts guests right in the heart of the kitchen action.
With just 15 guests at each event, diners enjoy a carefully curated tasting menu prepared in front of them. Throughout the experience, the ICE team talks through each dish, sharing the techniques, ideas and inspiration behind the food. Whether you’re passionate about food or simply looking for a new experience, it offers something genuinely different from a traditional restaurant meal and is a must-try for anyone looking for unique dining experiences in Suffolk.
