About this event
When the curtain falls and the audience has gone home, another cast is said to emerge from the shadows of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
Step behind the scenes of one of Britain’s oldest surviving Regency playhouses and uncover the spine-tingling stories, unexplained sightings and theatrical superstitions that have lingered within its walls for generations. From mysterious footsteps echoing through empty corridors to the legendary ghost light, you’ll hear about the encounters with staff, audience members and productions as things don’t always seem what they are.
Guided by torchlight, you’ll explore hidden corners of the building, hear spooky stories and discover why some believe the theatre’s former performers never truly took their final bow.
Whether you’re a believer in the paranormal or simply fascinated by history, this unique after-hours experience offers a rare glimpse into the eerie side of the Theatre Royal.
