About this event
Come and explore the reserve after dark and get involved with some 'spooky' nature-themed activities to discover the creatures of the night!
Following the trail, you will get the opportunity to see the lakes in a whole new way and of course fancy dress is encouraged!
Activities will include:
Tin can bug hotel- upcycle your tin can to put out in your garden and create a home for insects. *Bring your own tin can!*
Owl pellet dissection - explore the curious diet of this beloved bird
Torch lit bug hunting- see what bugs can be found using our red light torches. Have a look at our moth trap and see the moths in action.
Bat detectors - what bats can be found at the lakes? Join one of our volunteers who will guide you through how to use a bat detector to listen out for the bats flying around.
Skull handling - get up close and personal to find out which animal they belong to
Hedgehog Haven - find out how you can help hedgehogs in your garden and make a cute friend to take home!
All activities are included in your ticket.
The event is recommended for 6+ due to the 'spooky' nature and is VERY dark between activities so please bring a torch! This is an outdoor event so wrap up warm and dress for the weather.
The cafe and toilets will be open on the night.
