For the third consecutive year, Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides have been awarded the Travellers’ Choice distinction by Tripadvisor which again puts them in the top 10% of things to do worldwide and demonstrates their commitment to hospitality excellence.

For the third consecutive year, Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides have been awarded the Travellers’ Choice distinction by Tripadvisor which again puts them in the top 10% of things to do worldwide and demonstrates their commitment to hospitality excellence.
The award is based on those who experienced their tours and provided strong reviews. Of 408 reviews, all but four of them were classified as excellent or very good.
The range of tours have been enjoyed by visitors from 25 different Countries, those from across England and a high proportion of local people.
Marketing Officer John Saunders said: “The Guides always try to deliver tours across a range of topics that are interesting and entertaining. The Travellers’ Choice award brings together all the reviews we have received and endorses our efforts, something that makes us very proud.”
This year’s 11 am daily tours continue until October and have already attracted over 100 people from across the UK, Canada, America, Japan and Bulgaria.
In addition, the guides research and produce subject-specific tours, examples being ‘Have you noticed’ which illustrates the benefits of looking upwards, downwards and sideways! Another topical tour, ‘Stars and Stripes’ takes place on 4 July celebrating the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
Since July 2025, the Guides have collaborated with Our Bury St Edmunds BID, Bury St Edmunds and Beyond and 16 local independent businesses to stage walking tours and along the way, enjoy bite-sized samples of delicious food and drink and receive inputs on local history. These too have proved a great success with over 140 bookings.
