Bury's Best By Bike Rides Back This Summer in Bury St Edmunds
A 25-minute sightseeing ride by Pedal Cab

Bury's Best By Bike rides, run by EcoCarriersBSE in a partnership with Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides, have proved such a success with residents and visitors that they will be back this summer.
50 rides around the town's iconic historic sights in the town centre by PedalCab were booked over the school summer holiday trial last year with visitors from South Africa, USA, Portugal and Holland participating.
The 25-minute tour which takes in the Abbey Gardens, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and many more sights was open to everyone, supported by Our Bury St Edmunds BID under the town's tourism brand Bury St Edmunds and Beyond.
Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides, who deliver the very popular daily walking tours and the Ghostly and Macabre Walks, recorded optional commentary for the rides so visitors can learn about the places they see on the route. It is ideal for those facing mobility challenges or disabilities that hinder their independent travel.
This year they will run every day from Monday 28 July to Sunday 7 September at 12 noon and 12.30pm, pre-booking essential via the EcocarriersBSE website Rides are free with a suggested donation of £10 per ride. Rides take up to two people.
Our Bury St Edmunds BID supported the PedalCabs this year with funding for 100 hours and will do so for another year. PedalCab Plus also provide a free transportation service designed for individuals in the community facing mobility challenges or disabilities that hinder their independent travel, including using conventional taxis. They can often be seen bringing members of the community into town centre to do some shopping.
Director of EcoCarriersBSE Libby Ranzetta said: "We are absolutely delighted to be working again with Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides and Bury St Edmunds and Beyond to be able to offer these sightseeing rides again this summer for visitors and residents alike. These rides enable people who cannot take part in a walking tour of Bury or who would like to do something a bit different to see the main sights of Bury’s historic quarter.”
