You’ll stay in one of The Angel Hotel’s Signature Rooms, a perfect space to enjoy luxury and relax in your king size bed and spectacular free standing signature bath.

Plus enjoy a delicious breakfast with the views of the Abbey Gate in their Eaterie restaurant. Their Head Chef is passionate about cooking with local ingredients for inspirational and interesting dishes in their award-winning 2 rosette Eaterie.

The historic Angel Hotel is just across the street from the award-winning Abbey Gardens and the town’s cathedral.

Just a few minutes’ walk from The Angel is 1921 Angel Hill - a uniquely refreshing fine dining option with three AA rosettes.

With Zack Deakins as chef patron, the restaurant follows an unconventional approach with relaxed service and the food reigning supreme.

You will enjoy a selection of canapés served alongside an aperitif while browsing their carefully thought-out wine list before savouring their delicious 5-course tasting menu. The tasting menu gives you the opportunity to experience a wider range of the menu and what 1921 is all about through the art of their food.

By entering you are agreeing to our terms and conditions:
- Competition closes 23:59 on 30 March 2026.
- The winner will be contacted by email. If the winner does not respond within 48 hours, the prize will be re-drawn.
- Entrants to this competition agree to Bury St Edmunds and Beyond using their details in post-competition publicity. Your details will not be used for any other purpose, or passed onto any third parties, unless specified.
- The prize is a one-night stay for two adults at The Angel Hotel in a Signature Room, including bed and breakfast with a complimentary cocktail in The Angel bar. Plus a 5-course tasting menu for two adults including a selection of canapés, to be booked for lunch or dinner Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
- The stay and tasting menu must be booked in advance and is subject to availability. The prize cannot be used for a stay on 24/25/26/31 December 2026.
- Blackout dates may apply, including bank holidays and peak periods.
- The prize is non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered. Travel to and from Bury St Edmunds is not included.
- Any extras incurred during the stay (e.g. meals, drinks, upgrades) are the responsibility of the winner unless otherwise stated.

About the Venue

This Georgian ivy clad AA Red Star* boutique hotel and restaurant in Suffolk surprises with a twist of urban chic. Our Suffolk hotel is right in the centre of Bury St Edmunds town centre and everything is just a step from here.

Explore winding, cobbled, shop filled streets and a plethora of ancient architecture on the doorstep. Once inside, the Angel Hotel is a curious contrast of comfy contemporary design with touches of exotic grandeur.

Warm leather sofas vie for your company in the lounge, which is filled with curiosities, pop art, eccentric oddities and cool vintage furniture.

It is a hotel of many different aspects all artfully blended together into an exciting package and the bedrooms are no exception. The Angel Eaterie restaurant has a great reputation and dining here is a culinary treat.

Dog Friendly accommodation is available. Dogs are not allowed in the Eaterie restaurant or bar area, but they are allowed in the large lounge.
