Battle of Britain Parade 2026

Join Bury St Edmunds in commemorating the courage and sacrifice of the brave airmen and service personnel who defended Britain during the pivotal air campaign of 1940.

The parade features a ceremonial march by veterans, serving personnel, cadet forces, and local dignitaries, accompanied by a military band.

Event Schedule and Route

10:30am: Parade forms up and departs from the Abbey Gardens via the Abbey Gate

11am Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration takes place at St Mary’s Church.

12pm: The return parade and march past on Angel Hill takes place, culminating with the dismissal of units back at the Abbey Gardens
