Record Number of Tours for 2024 in Bury St Edmunds
Tours Take Off in Bury St Edmunds
Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides have set yet another record by increasing the number of tour bookings so far in 2024 to 1347. This is 372 more than in 2023 and comes on top of the Guides recent award by Tripadvisor which put them in the top 10% of worldwide tourist attractions.
John Saunders, Marketing Officer said: “Globally, the media have been keen to publicise our successes, especially the variety of tours that we provide. This has brought people to us this year from 15 different countries and all parts of England.“
Their popular ‘Masters of the Air’ tours, about wartime in Bury, sold out between February and June and there will now be additional tours at 2pm on Saturdays 21 September and 26 October.
Although dogs are normally excluded from tours, on 1 September a special guided walk will take place for dog-lovers, highlighting Bury as England’s most dog-friendly town.
John continued, “Our strength is very much in building local partnerships, for example we work closely with others including the Guildhall, accommodation providers, the pedal-cab, rickshaws and the town's tourism brand Bury St Edmunds and Beyond. All of this keeps Bury on the map and supports its thriving economy.”
The Guides are not content to rest on their laurels - they will be welcoming a group from New Orleans in October and then getting ready for the start of their popular ghostly and macabre season.
All bookings can be made at Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides website.
