The Northgate (hotel)

The Northgate is redefining the boutique experience. The historic house, located just a few moments walk from Bury St Edmunds' iconic ancient Abbey in the town centre, has undergone extensive renovation resulting in the creation of one of the country's finest boutique Houses.

Ten uniquely styled rooms are complemented with both relaxed and refined dining experiences, alongside a contemporary cocktail bar.

Bedrooms

An opulent French theme runs throughout the hotel's ten individually styled bedrooms. Chestnut's interior design team has cleverly combined The Northgate's charming period features including original fireplaces and sash windows with modern twists of luxury. Free standing over-sized baths, decadent padded headboards, marble tiles, fine linen and ornate mirrors lie in wait for the guests.

Dining

Celebrating the provenance of the region is what The Northgate is passionate about and this is reflected in the menus. Everything from the hearty Suffolk breakfast to the Taste of East Anglia lunch menu, The Northgate is the perfect environment to sit back, relax and enjoy delicious local ingredients prepared to the highest standards.

Chef's Table

The Northgate is home to Bury St Edmund's first ever Chef's Table where up to 12 guests have the chance to witness first-hand the mastery of Head Chef Greig Young and his team at work. Take your taste buds on a culinary journey around East Anglia with the Taste Of East Anglia five or seven-course menu. Each course celebrates the fresh, seasonal produce from a specific area in the region and Greig will be on hand to talk you through your culinary tour.

Bar and Terrace

The Northgate offers guests the largest terrace in Bury St Edmunds, a perfect sun trap to enjoy a meal or cocktail, should the weather not suit being outdoors, guests are welcome in the contemporary bar where a team of mixologists are on hand to create stunning cocktails with a theatrical twist.
