We all have a bit of a sweet tooth here, so we’ve created a rundown of our favourite cake shops in Bury St Edmunds!
No5 Angel Hill Wine and Coffee House

With arguably one of the best views in Bury St Edmunds, right opposite the Abbeygate on Angel Hill, No5 Angel Hill is a cake lovers delight!
This cafe, run by husband and wife, Charlie and Tanya Athorne, serve a wonderful range of homemade cakes including gluten free!
The cafe boasts stylish interiors from Dapper Aviation, which makes furniture from aircraft parts.
Why not team your slice of cake with a glass of wine or gin and tonic guilt free! We won't tell.
Bay Tree Cafe

Carrot cake, Orange polenta cake, Flapjacks, Millionaire shortbread, chocolate brownies are just some of the mouth-watering cake options at Bay Tree Cafe.
The Bay Tree Cafe in St John's Street is all about tasty food cooked to order for every customer and they like to keep things fresh by changing up dishes so check out their specials board!

Baileys 2 has been a popular destination for locals for many years with a strong local reputation for tasty treats, aromatic coffees and sandwiches with a twist.
Their cake menu deserves it's own shout out with chocolate fudge cake, sticky toffee pudding cake, raspberry bakewell tart, red velvet sponge cake and treacle and pecan tart, among just some of the big selection of cakes on offer.

Remembering the 'old days' is a favourite pastime in which we all indulge. For many, those days are recreated so eloquently at Harriets cafe Tearooms, where the true quality of service from 'yesteryear' is at the centre of everything.
If it's breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, Harriets has much to offer. All their dishes are made on the premises, many to family recipes, using UK sourced ingredients. Indulge in a fresh cooked breakfast or simply pop in for leaf tea and handmade cakes!
Harriets Cafe Tearooms is fully licensed with outside seating also available in the summer months. Waitresses wear period uniforms and serve you promptly in elegant surroundings. The tearoom has regular live piano music to accompany you, in addition to welcoming children and having good disabled and pushchair access.

These are just some of the cake-lious delights at Procopio’s Pantry. Located in Langton Place, Procopio's Pantry is a traditional tea room with a twist.
Swapping out jacket potatoes for loaded wedges and serving up sweet treats for breakfast, this tea room aims to be a relaxing spot where customers can enjoy good company and even better food.
Pilgrims Kitchen

Enjoy a slice of cake, or two (no ones counting), at Pilgrims Kitchen at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
A beautiful setting with comfy sofas to enjoy a well deserved rest right in the heart of Suffolk's only cathedral.
Their yummy cakes, including chocolate, cappucino and carrot cake are baked on the premises as well as their very popular cheese scones but get there early for the scones as these are a favourite of the Cathedral staff!
You can also sit outside in the walled garden, a little Oasis of calm in the centre of town and a step away from the beautiful Abbey Gardens.

Perfect to pair with a coffee in store, Muffin Break prepare a range of cake slices freshly baked everyday.

A beautiful cafe situated in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, Lounge & Garden offers a peaceful place to relax and unwind with a stylish interior and beautiful garden.
The cafe at one point was post office for the town (called Decks Post Office) and even used their own trade coins which appeared 154 years later in Stowmarket.
